Turkey day

Katrina dressed up as a pilgrim mother. Her class did research projects on
historical figures from the Western expansion.

Thanksgiving morning hike.

This year was a little different for our family for Thanksgiving. We usually do our own thing since our families are not near. This year a couple from the ward suggested we celebrate together and we thought that was great! We divided responsibilities on who made what and were set. - But then Kelly was concerned about the new family in the ward from Brazil so we invited them and then someone else got invited and someone else. They all told us an item they'd bring and we figured our houses were too small for about 20 people. So we decided we'd do it at the church and set it up with couches in a corner and a TV and games and try and make it homey. We brought decorations and the "what are you thankful for leaves" to hang on a string, we had a 22 lb turkey and a 10 lb turkey and ham, baked potatoes, tons of candied yams, green bean casserole, corn, gravy, pumpkin, pecan, and apple pies, stuffing galore, cranberry sauce, pickles and olives, and lots and lots of rolls. We happily set everything up, the kids ran all over and played outside in the rain. It was nice, but then only 1 person showed up. To say we had more food than we could eat is an understatement. It was definately a feast prepared for kings. We were disappointed but still enjoyed the time together and played games and talked for hours.

All in all, it went pretty well and we went home with leftovers and pleasantly stuffed. :)
