Rebecca

Rebecca says I don't post enough pictures and things about her on my blog and since her birthday is coming up next in terms of my kids, on Feb. 15th (Doug is Feb. 10), I decided to make this a tribute to my beautiful girl.

Rebecca Mary Polakowski was born February 15, 1998, after around 36 hours of labor.
She weighed 6 lbs. 5.5 oz.

She has always liked attention.

It took 2 years of trying to finally get pregnant with her and I think it made the difficulties that much easier to deal with. She was a very demanding baby, but a joy to our family. We were so happy to have her with us! Here she is at 1-years-old. 2-years-old and one of my favorite pictures. Rebecca and John were the best of friends. Rebecca never had any sibling jealousy when he was born. 3-years-old and a new sister to play with!John, Rebecca, and Holly sitting on our hillAt the end of her third year she decided to chop her hair off. :(
It wasn't very pretty. Mom was very sad.
Shortly after that she got sick with a rare childhood autoimmune disease (Henoch-Schonlein Purpura) that put her in the hospital for 3 weeks and lasted about 8 weeks. Very scary time for us, but she was a trooper and got to come home from the hospital in time for her 4th birthday!

5-years-old in February means....

Kindergarten fun is here in September!

She attended Kindergarten in Illinois for about a month before we moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

Below is at Roadrunner park.

6-years-old

7-year-old birthday with friends, Courtney, Sierra, and Madeline.

8-years-old - Baptism Day

9-years-old and on the principles list with a 4.0 GPA.

This was after Jacob was born, when we lived in Peoria. She LOVES babies and keeps telling me I need more. I tell her she can have as many as she wants when she is married.

Here she is at 10-years-old with a solar oven she made for a school project.

Rebecca is almost 11-years-old and can't wait until she can start babysitting. She is a very responsible, social, and loving girl and we really feel blessed to have her in our family.

  4. I'm right there with you Callie. It brought tears to my eyes thinking of the good friends these girls were and how they will probably forget easier than we will the awesome friendship that was started between our families, the kids, and especially us 5 years ago. Our girls are growing up to be beautiful young ladies. Oh man I miss you!
