Recent Happenings

Okay this is going out to the Grandmas who want to see regular pics of the kids. :) What has been going on in our life lately- besides the paperwork headaches of an FHA loan?

Yesterday was the annual Science Fair and my school-age children all did very well even though they left it until the last minute. I'm so glad it is over!

Rebecca did hers on fingerprint similarities and learned that family members have 80% more similar prints than when compared with her peers.

John did his on how much carbon dioxide is released from putting yeast in different substances and learned that the one with the most sugar produced the most.

Katrina learned how to make silly putty and what different combination of mixtures and solutions worked the best to get the bounciest kind.

Next, on Tuesday this week we had the much anticipated pinewood derby.

John called his the Silver Arrow and was pretty happy with it.

Get Ready... Get Set.... GO!

John did better this year than last, but we still have learned enough tricks to get him in a final top 3 position. :( Poor John. He really had fun though regardless!

So Monday it got up to 102 degrees. Yep, summer is coming! So of course we had to break out the sprinkle while the kids were at school. Leyna had a blast.

Jake was happy to sit on the side and just watch. Everytime he got sprinkled with
water he'd scream and run back to the porch. Too funny!
The puddles after were just the thing for him though.

  1. I remember Courtney at Jakes age. She would do the same thing with the sprinklers. Congrats to the other kids looked like they did pretty well last minute.
